“Silk plays the leading role in this collection, alternating with impressive decors based on views of the Himalayas”
More than 2000 years after its establishment, the historic Silk Road still appeals to the imagination. Along a network of roads, heavily laden caravans transported silk and other luxury goods between the Far East and the Western world. A journey that was full of adventure, especially when passing through the high mountains of the Himalayas. Arte drew inspiration for its Alaya collection from this fabulous journey. This wallcovering will transport you back in time and take you on an adventurous journey along the Silk Road. Silk plays the leading role in the collection, alternating with impressive decors based on views of the Himalayas.

Each of the designs has a warm textile look and feel; some with the pure appearance of linen, while others have the tactile nature of bouclé. They have all been given an authentic patina, an extra layer that emphasises the beauty of these timeless pieces.

Babylon truly appeals to the imagination... The world’s first big city, Babylon formed part of Mesopotamia, the cradle of civilisation. This is the birthplace of arable and livestock farming, astronomy, mathematics and writing, to name just a few. Cuneiform script was created by people carving and drawing in clay tablets and rock walls. And it is this technique of sculpting in clay that serves as inspiration for the Babylon collection. You could easily call the designs works of art: large clay tablets are shaped by hand with extreme precision and then translated into detailed creations that resemble plasterwork.

“Crafted from premium caprine leather, supple yet strong with a luxurious finish.”
The Corium collection offers a contemporary interpretation of classical patterns from the Early Renaissance. Authentic historical motifs are subtly interwoven throughout the collection. Crafted from premium caprine leather, supple yet strong with a luxurious finish, the collection takes its name from the Latin word corium, underlining the very essence of leather. Some designs feature a satin-finished surface, while others showcase lightly sanded nubuck. The leather is carefully cut, stitched, and assembled into a powerful composition, upon which embroidery is applied. The result is an intriguing interplay between material and design, tradition and modernity.

People have always been attracted to natural materials and woven grasses in particular, which have been used in and around the house for centuries. Over time, these fabrics have become sturdier, with more applications. And now these materials have inspired the Les Naturels collection, in which the warmth of raffia, the subtle texture of sisal and the natural looks of woven grass are finally given the attention they deserve. The materials' organic origins and authentic colours bring a sense of calm to interiors, drawing nature indoors. They also combine beautifully with the two botanical prints in this collection. “Redefining the boundaries of what is possible”
The Greek myth of Icarus tells how Daedalus and his son Icarus were imprisoned on Crete. Daedalus created wings made of feathers and beeswax to escape. He warned Icarus not to fly too low or too high. Icarus, however, ignored his father's sound advice and flew too close to the sun. As the wax melted, he plummeted to his death. This story of courage and hubris, but also of unique creativity and of pushing boundaries to craft something almost impossible, provided the inspiration for this collection. Blending unique, creative designs with technical innovation, Icarus uses materials that have never been incorporated into wallcoverings in this way before. The innovative designs of the Icarus collection celebrate craftsmanship and redefine the boundaries of what is possible.

In India, summer does not arrive quietly. It bursts forth in full force: the world is bathed in golden light, scented with ripe fruit and warm earth, while the air shimmers with heat. In this climate, comfort becomes an art, and the right textile is more than a luxury. It’s a necessity, softening the heat and bringing beauty, texture, and ease to daily life. Linen, spun from the strong flax plant, has been a faithful companion in such climates for centuries. It breathes, cools, and stays pleasant even when the air feels completely still.

“This designer wallcovering is a reinterpretation of Le Corbusier's own work”
This designer wallcovering is a reinterpretation of Le Corbusier's own work; using all of the innovative techniques but faithful to his unique philosophy. The pattern is based on the wallcovering with a dotted pattern that he designed in 1931. The dots are, however, no longer applied in oil paint but with a high-gloss relief ink. They provide a subtle reflection which allows the wallcovering to play with light, as Le Corbusier did with his architecture. Le Corbusier - Dots is formed around ‘Polychromie architecturale’, the famous colour system developed by Le Corbusier. It encompasses 40 colours that can be perfectly combined with one another. He developed it as the guiding principle for determining colours for walls and large surfaces in architecture.

“Wallcovering with a luxurious, natural pearlescent sheen”
During the Spanish colonial period, capiz shells were often used in windows instead of glass as they were easier to obtain and also filtered the light nicely. The Latin name of this shell is Placuna placenta, but it is also called windowpane oyster. Capiz plays a starring role in four unique designs of our Luster collection. Each design, which is available as a tile, features a striking relief thanks to a creative technique: threads are glued onto the subsurface, after which water-soaked capiz is printed onto this pattern. Each design is available in two neutral and two bolder hues with a luxurious, natural pearlescent sheen.

Each design seeks to embody, in its own way, the graceful movement of the wind, expressed through fluid forms and sweeping lines, as if a gentle breeze were drifting into the room.
